Peanut Butter as Rodent Bait
The market for mousetraps and rat traps baited with peanut butter is currently being unsettled by a (dis)information campaign initiated by a Swiss company.
The background to this is that Swissinno Solutions AG has been listed on the so-called Art. 95 list for the active substance peanut butter since the beginning of 2024.
The Swiss company is of the opinion that all traps that contain and are sold with the corresponding bait are now subject to biocide law.
However, the company fails to recognise key aspects of biocide law and makes a blanket assertion that does not apply to all traps fitted with peanut butter.
The Art. 95 listing is also not an argument in favour of the accuracy of the claims, as there are certain exceptions.
